0:29 | upcoming US Women’s Open and all the

0:34 | advancing the purse and yeah did a few

0:37 | interviews after that and now I’m just

0:39 | relaxing at the hotel Pebble Beach and

0:42 | Lancaster very very different what were

0:44 | your impressions of the golf

0:47 | course yeah like you said def definitely

0:49 | very different um the greens weren’t as

0:52 | firm or as fast as I’m sure they will be

0:54 | in about a month but um it’s beautiful

0:57 | out here and everyone just talks about

0:59 | how great the Community is and how we’re

1:03 | so I’m looking forward to it it’s going

1:07 | back to your win at Pebble in 2023 what

1:13 | the year LED you to believe that you

1:17 | championship yeah had a top three at uh

1:20 | Singapore early on in the year and then

1:22 | played my way into the final group at

1:24 | Chevron last year right before the US

1:27 | Open and um didn’t get it done either of

1:30 | those experiences but definitely got me

1:32 | a little more comfortable being in

1:34 | contention and um definitely helped me

1:37 | to win the US Open Allison Pebble Beach

1:40 | one of those golf courses the routing

1:42 | stays with you what was the best shot

1:45 | you hit that week when you think back to

1:47 | winning the national

1:50 | championship yeah I definitely say the

1:52 | back nine um that final round on

1:55 | Sunday um 14 we actually laid it up a

1:59 | little further than I wanted and it

2:01 | wasn’t a super comfortable yardage for

2:03 | me and just that shot in making Birdie

2:05 | on 14 and 15 I think was when it started

2:08 | to settle in and that you know like I

2:11 | was going to win um so I’d say

2:12 | definitely that stretch coming in it’s

2:15 | such a whirlwind in the immediate

2:17 | aftermath after winning a major

2:18 | championship but in the hours or the

2:20 | days afterward Allison when did it start

2:23 | and how did it start to sink in what

2:25 | you’d actually

2:27 | accomplished yeah I played the week

2:29 | after actually played The Dana open

2:31 | following the win and um I think that

2:34 | was just a whirlwind of another week it

2:35 | was just kind of like trying to get

2:36 | through the week and then I had an off

2:38 | week after that and that’s that’s really

2:40 | when I took some time to think about it

2:42 | and think about what had just happened

2:44 | and I think just as more time passes and

2:46 | the more that people come up and

2:48 | congratulate me even still um it’s it’s

2:51 | really awesome and it still still almost

2:53 | feels like some days it hasn’t fully

2:55 | sank in yet well imagine it’s busy being

2:57 | the defending champ of the US Women’s

2:59 | open to boot it’s an Olympic year you’re

3:02 | currently fifth in the standings for the

3:04 | United States got to get into that top

3:06 | four inside the top 15 in the Rolex

3:09 | world rankings how much is that on your

3:11 | mind you want to get to Paris in a few

3:13 | months

3:14 | time yeah it’s definitely a big goal of

3:16 | mine but at the same time I mean I’m

3:19 | really just grateful for the

3:20 | opportunities that I’ve had and I mean

3:22 | it is another solheim year as well so

3:25 | there’s a lot to look forward to and

3:27 | really just trying not to put too much

3:28 | pressure on myself and just keep doing

3:30 | what I’ve been

3:32 | doing it wouldn’t be an interview these

3:34 | days if we did not ask about Nelly Corda

3:36 | but Alexon you’re in a unique position

3:38 | and that you partnered with Nelly at

3:40 | last year’s solheim cup in the alternate

3:42 | shot format what did you learn about her

3:45 | that week that led you believe that

3:46 | something like this was possible where

3:47 | she’s now going for her sixth win in a

3:50 | row yeah no it’s it’s awesome to see her

3:53 | just dominating recently um she’s always

3:56 | been such a great player and it just

3:57 | seems like she’s really settled into her

3:59 | game I mean when we were Partners I was

4:01 | kind of joking to Jay my caddy um we

4:05 | played alternate shot together and I was

4:06 | just kind of saying like wow I’ve never

4:08 | been this far up like I’ve never had

4:10 | such short clubs into the greens so I

4:12 | definitely think one of her biggest

4:13 | strengths is just how well she hits the

4:15 | golf ball and then I mean she really

4:17 | doesn’t have any weaknesses in her game

4:19 | so it’s it’s no surprise that she’s

4:21 | playing so well another player with very

4:24 | few weaknesses sah thala his dad merley

4:27 | is everywhere I see him in almost every

4:29 | PJ event that sah is playing but then

4:32 | there was Merling cheering you on at

4:34 | Pebble Beach I don’t know if he has a

4:36 | twin or something but how did the

4:37 | relationship happened between your

4:38 | family and saha’s

4:41 | family yeah so we actually met at the uh

4:44 | junior worlds when we were six um in

4:47 | California and then kind of reconnected

4:50 | one of my best friends from college is

4:52 | actually pretty good family friends with

4:54 | him as well so um they I mean I think it

4:58 | was just close enough

5:00 | um his dad drove up to come support me

5:02 | and yeah it was awesome to have him out

5:04 | there also in the wake of the US Women’s

5:07 | Open Victory former president Barack

5:09 | Obama tweeted at you or wrote on X that

5:12 | he was looking forward to a round with

5:13 | you we got to follow up did you ever

5:16 | make it happen it has not happened yet

5:19 | um but I’m looking forward to the day
