  • 0:05 | hey everyone it’s Paige and welcome back
  • 0:07 | to my YouTube channel I haven’t done a
  • 0:09 | sit down video in a little bit so I
  • 0:10 | thought this would be fun I turned 30.
  • 0:13 | yeah the big 3-0 the dirty 30 and I’m
  • 0:18 | excited about it I feel like at this
  • 0:20 | point in my life
  • 0:21 | I’ve really comments my own this is the
  • 0:24 | most confident and sexy and fearless
  • 0:27 | that I’ve ever felt in my entire life
  • 0:31 | and I can’t wait for my 30s I think
  • 0:34 | women are afraid to talk about their age
  • 0:37 | because people talk about women when
  • 0:39 | they get a little bit well past past 25
  • 0:43 | really that they have a shelf life and
  • 0:46 | they they talk about us like we’re
  • 0:48 | expired milk and that’s just not true I
  • 0:51 | feel like I’m not expired milk I’m wine
  • 0:54 | and I just keep getting better and
  • 0:56 | better and better as the years go on and
  • 0:59 | I know I’m not wise I’m still young I’m
  • 1:03 | 30 years old and that is a baby in the
  • 1:06 | grand scheme of life but
  • 1:09 | still I wanted to share five things that
  • 1:13 | I have learned so far by the age of 30.
  • 1:17 | number one it’s okay to not know what
  • 1:20 | you’re doing with your life there were
  • 1:22 | so many times in my life that I didn’t
  • 1:24 | know what direction I was going in what
  • 1:27 | my purpose was what I wanted to do and
  • 1:30 | there’s a running joke in my family like
  • 1:32 | oh no what’s wrong with Paige now I had
  • 1:34 | a very unconventional upbringing where
  • 1:38 | I had health issues like I had a hair
  • 1:42 | condition and Asthma and emotional
  • 1:44 | issues and my parents were constantly
  • 1:46 | worried about me when I was little and
  • 1:49 | then I got into gymnastics they’re like
  • 1:50 | maybe she found her thing maybe this is
  • 1:52 | it nope
  • 1:54 | that wasn’t it
  • 1:56 | the girls and they’re like okay maybe
  • 1:57 | this is her purpose and I showed promise
  • 2:00 | for a while but then I got into college
  • 2:02 | and those emotional issues came back and
  • 2:04 | I lost my passion for golf and there was
  • 2:06 | no clear Direction I had no idea what I
  • 2:08 | wanted to do and I remember my dad
  • 2:12 | sitting me down just being like well
  • 2:14 | what do you want to do with your life
  • 2:17 | and I’m like I don’t I don’t know I I
  • 2:20 | could be a coach a golf coach I love
  • 2:22 | golf instruction and that’s something
  • 2:25 | that I’m I’m passionate about I could do
  • 2:26 | that
  • 2:28 | and I’ve always walked to the Beat of My
  • 2:30 | Own Drum and I think I struggled so much
  • 2:33 | because a conventional way of life
  • 2:35 | didn’t fit who I was as a person and it
  • 2:40 | was so hard and difficult on me because
  • 2:42 | it’s like you’re trying to put a square
  • 2:45 | peg in a round hole it’s just not going
  • 2:47 | to fit and I’m sure that hand movement
  • 2:50 | is going to cause all these comments and
  • 2:52 | I I see I always set myself up for stuff
  • 2:54 | like this anyways you guys get the point
  • 2:56 | it’s like fitting a square peg and a
  • 2:58 | round hole it’s just not going to work
  • 3:00 | and so I was just struggling and
  • 3:02 | struggling and I just
  • 3:05 | had to figure it out and I did and I
  • 3:09 | ended up kind of falling into what I was
  • 3:11 | doing now but this is exactly what I
  • 3:13 | should be doing and it just shows you
  • 3:15 | that if there isn’t a clear path for you
  • 3:18 | make your own path
  • 3:20 | build your own career and that’s what I
  • 3:22 | did that this golf influencer wasn’t a
  • 3:25 | thing I created it I built it and now
  • 3:28 | it’s really cool to see all of these
  • 3:30 | especially women coming up now following
  • 3:33 | exactly what I’m doing step by step by
  • 3:35 | step and it’s laid out perfectly for
  • 3:38 | them to be successful but for me I was
  • 3:40 | like what do I do now let’s do this
  • 3:43 | let’s do this let’s do this I don’t know
  • 3:45 | and I had to figure it out as I was
  • 3:47 | going but it ended up working out and so
  • 3:49 | be patient
  • 3:51 | understand that you know life is
  • 3:52 | difficult there’s tons of twists and
  • 3:54 | turns and ups and downs and find what
  • 3:57 | your purpose is and what makes you happy
  • 3:59 | also just what is your purpose when I
  • 4:02 | first started doing this I was had these
  • 4:04 | Grand ideas if I wanted to change the
  • 4:06 | game and all of these things and I woke
  • 4:08 | up and I had so much pressure on me and
  • 4:10 | I’m like why I’m doing this to myself
  • 4:12 | I’m putting so much pressure on myself
  • 4:14 | and it doesn’t matter what makes you
  • 4:16 | happy to me it was making silly videos
  • 4:18 | fun videos that made other people smile
  • 4:20 | that’s what I wanted to do so trust
  • 4:22 | yourself trust your instincts and it
  • 4:25 | does always work out just trust yourself
  • 4:27 | number two is quality over quantity when
  • 4:31 | it comes to friends I remember it’s like
  • 4:34 | how many friends do you have and
  • 4:36 | um trying to be as popular as you
  • 4:38 | possibly can be I didn’t have to worry
  • 4:40 | about that too much because I was
  • 4:41 | homeschooled and so my lady friend was
  • 4:43 | my mother and now I only have like a
  • 4:46 | handful of friends who really really
  • 4:48 | know me and who I have let in I think
  • 4:51 | that’s okay you don’t have to have a ton
  • 4:53 | of friends and if you do have a ton of
  • 4:54 | friends great more power to you but
  • 4:56 | that’s just not something that really
  • 4:57 | worked for me especially with the life
  • 5:00 | that I live now it’s really hard to stay
  • 5:02 | connected and be a really great friend
  • 5:04 | with how busy I am and so I really try
  • 5:06 | to prioritize my friendships now and I I
  • 5:09 | couldn’t do it with a ton of people and
  • 5:11 | so you just friends just walk away and
  • 5:13 | you just can’t keep that connection as
  • 5:16 | much and so I really tried to focus on
  • 5:18 | the quality friends that I do have and
  • 5:20 | make sure that they’re always a priority
  • 5:22 | in my life and you also don’t want to
  • 5:25 | have people in your life that bring you
  • 5:26 | down you should only have people in your
  • 5:27 | life that lift you up and want the best
  • 5:29 | for you and there’s so many times that
  • 5:31 | you keep friendships around because
  • 5:32 | you’ve known them for a long time or
  • 5:34 | whatever reason it may be but they don’t
  • 5:36 | fulfill you and they don’t help you grow
  • 5:40 | as a person they’re not there for you
  • 5:42 | and those are people you just don’t want
  • 5:43 | in your life whether that’s
  • 5:44 | relationships or friendships those
  • 5:47 | people are negative and you don’t you
  • 5:50 | don’t have time for that and so I know
  • 5:52 | it’s hard to walk away but you’re gonna
  • 5:54 | be so much happier when you do that and
  • 5:56 | you do take that jump to only have
  • 5:58 | quality friends in your life who make
  • 6:01 | you a better person and it doesn’t also
  • 6:03 | mean having yes men in your life I think
  • 6:05 | one reason I have been so successful for
  • 6:09 | such a long time in this brutal industry
  • 6:11 | that I’m in is because I don’t have
  • 6:13 | people who just say yes to everything
  • 6:15 | and they make me question and think and
  • 6:18 | they challenge me and they push me and
  • 6:22 | that is so important too to have friends
  • 6:24 | who can keep you humble and to question
  • 6:26 | you and to always push you to be a
  • 6:28 | better person as well and so finding
  • 6:31 | your core group is so incredibly
  • 6:33 | important when you do make sure that you
  • 6:34 | prioritize them number three
  • 6:37 | stop complaining
  • 6:39 | I used to complain about things all the
  • 6:41 | time and I thought it would make me feel
  • 6:43 | better and it never made me feel better
  • 6:44 | just made me feel worse and I got so
  • 6:47 | sick of complaining about things when
  • 6:49 | there were things that I could change
  • 6:51 | and so I’m really trying now to not
  • 6:54 | complain as much and to focus on things
  • 6:57 | in my life that are good and positive
  • 7:00 | and also if there is a problem in my
  • 7:02 | life how can I change it and to look at
  • 7:04 | it in a logical way okay this is making
  • 7:09 | me unhappy here are the four or five
  • 7:11 | steps One Step that I need to do to
  • 7:13 | change my life or to do this or to that
  • 7:15 | I can always sit here and wonder and
  • 7:17 | feel bad for ourselves and there’s
  • 7:18 | definitely time for that because life is
  • 7:20 | really hard and it kicks you down
  • 7:22 | constantly and so you can have a minute
  • 7:25 | or five minutes to yourself to feel
  • 7:26 | sorry for you and what’s going on in
  • 7:29 | your life but get up
  • 7:32 | think through it how can I make a change
  • 7:34 | what can I do to be a better person and
  • 7:38 | to change what I’m doing for me it was
  • 7:40 | therapy I was making decisions in my
  • 7:42 | life because of either unresolved trauma
  • 7:45 | or I was just doing things to cause more
  • 7:48 | issues for myself you know the list goes
  • 7:51 | on and on and on we don’t need to get
  • 7:52 | into that today because I want to be
  • 7:54 | more positive but for me it was healing
  • 7:58 | myself and going to therapy and that
  • 8:00 | really helped me with a couple things
  • 8:03 | and then once those things came into
  • 8:04 | into place and other things in my life
  • 8:06 | started to come into place and most of
  • 8:09 | the time we do it to ourselves and you
  • 8:11 | can complain about well maybe you want
  • 8:13 | to be healthier well that’s that’s a
  • 8:15 | change you can make you know and you can
  • 8:17 | or maybe you want to drink less well you
  • 8:20 | know there are steps or things that you
  • 8:22 | can do to achieve that sometimes they’re
  • 8:24 | really really difficult and sometimes
  • 8:26 | they’re easy it really just depends it
  • 8:28 | could be as easy as
  • 8:30 | feeling better in the morning making
  • 8:32 | your bed going for a walk prioritizing
  • 8:34 | your self-care again
  • 8:37 | we can make these changes in our life
  • 8:39 | and we can feel sorry for ourselves too
  • 8:42 | but spending less time complaining and
  • 8:44 | more time being proactive and really
  • 8:46 | thinking through how can I make my life
  • 8:48 | better has made me a much happier person
  • 8:50 | and trust me there are days when this is
  • 8:53 | not easy and I just want to lay in bed
  • 8:55 | and feel sorry for myself because life
  • 8:58 | is shitty
  • 9:00 | but you just get in a bad routine of
  • 9:04 | doing that constantly day in and day out
  • 9:07 | and this goes back to number two of
  • 9:09 | having good people in your life and good
  • 9:11 | friends and a support system to help you
  • 9:14 | um make really positive changes and
  • 9:16 | become a better person because I know
  • 9:18 | when I am doing things in my life that I
  • 9:20 | know I should be doing I am so much
  • 9:22 | happier instead of doing things that I
  • 9:25 | know I shouldn’t be doing and then
  • 9:26 | dealing with the consequences and then
  • 9:27 | complaining about it it’s like it starts
  • 9:29 | with me and I can change it so that’s
  • 9:32 | been something that I’m really working
  • 9:33 | on that has drastically changed my life
  • 9:35 | number four it is okay paid to fail
  • 9:39 | I get the question a lot like what is
  • 9:41 | your biggest regret in life nothing
  • 9:42 | every time that I have failed has been
  • 9:45 | the biggest stepping stone in my life
  • 9:47 | every mistake that I’ve made I have
  • 9:49 | grown and I’ve learned from it and it’s
  • 9:52 | been the biggest Catalyst within my
  • 9:54 | career the times where I’ve been my most
  • 9:57 | unhappy and then I have failed publicly
  • 10:00 | I’ve had the biggest growths in my
  • 10:03 | career and it’s because I’m trying to do
  • 10:05 | different things and I’m pushing myself
  • 10:07 | and I’m challenging myself it’s easy to
  • 10:09 | stay consistent when you’re doing the
  • 10:11 | same thing every single day but you’re
  • 10:12 | not going to have much growth doing that
  • 10:14 | and so it’s pushing yourself and knowing
  • 10:17 | that you might fail but then learning
  • 10:19 | from that failure and knowing how can I
  • 10:21 | change it how can I fix it I’ve tried to
  • 10:23 | incorporate that into my personal life
  • 10:25 | and also into my business career and
  • 10:29 | again it’s okay to fail you should be
  • 10:31 | failing you should be pushing yourself
  • 10:33 | and you should be doing things that are
  • 10:34 | scary there are so many things
  • 10:36 | throughout the year that I’m like
  • 10:38 | dreading doing because I’m nervous about
  • 10:41 | it because I’m nervous I’m gonna fail or
  • 10:43 | I’m nervous about what the outcome is
  • 10:44 | going to be and every time it’s over I’m
  • 10:46 | always like I’m so glad I did that I’m
  • 10:48 | so glad I pushed myself I’m so glad I
  • 10:51 | took that step which was scary and not
  • 10:53 | fun and I did it and whether it was
  • 10:55 | successful or not I either learned
  • 10:57 | something from it or I was so happy that
  • 10:59 | I did it and so it’s push yourself fail
  • 11:02 | keep challenging yourself keep pushing
  • 11:05 | forward because that’s when you’re going
  • 11:06 | to see the biggest growth in your life
  • 11:08 | number five
  • 11:10 | should be fun relationships should be
  • 11:13 | fun uh work should be fun everything in
  • 11:16 | your life should be fun and of course
  • 11:17 | there is going to be times in your life
  • 11:20 | that it’s not fun at all but if you
  • 11:23 | don’t have that then you’re never going
  • 11:25 | to get through the really hard times and
  • 11:28 | laughing in a relationship I didn’t know
  • 11:30 | that was a thing like I didn’t know that
  • 11:32 | you should have that much fun in
  • 11:33 | relationships and it can happen and it
  • 11:35 | should happen and and work too there’s
  • 11:37 | so many times where I wake up and I’m
  • 11:38 | like I’m so excited for today I cannot
  • 11:41 | wait to get out there and do something
  • 11:43 | and try something different and I’m
  • 11:45 | always pushing myself and at the core of
  • 11:48 | it is just fun and being excited and you
  • 11:52 | can make that change and you can cater
  • 11:55 | your life around what makes you happy I
  • 11:57 | think we get so stuck in these ruts and
  • 11:59 | doing the same thing over and over and
  • 12:00 | over again
  • 12:02 | um and and you just feel like that’s
  • 12:04 | what life should be I used to get that a
  • 12:06 | lot well it’s just what life is you know
  • 12:09 | like people argue that’s just life and
  • 12:12 | you know everyone hates their job that’s
  • 12:13 | just life no it’s not you can live a
  • 12:17 | life where there’s a lot of joy and
  • 12:18 | excitement and fun and you can push
  • 12:22 | yourself to do that and you can make
  • 12:23 | changes and there might be sacrifices in
  • 12:26 | other areas of your life but at the core
  • 12:28 | of it you should have so much fun doing
  • 12:30 | what you’re doing and I am finally at
  • 12:33 | this point in my life having so much fun
  • 12:35 | and being passionate about what I do and
  • 12:38 | every aspect of my life
  • 12:40 | I’m feeling confident and comfortable in
  • 12:43 | my own skin and I’m so excited for 30
  • 12:46 | but I’m still a union I’m a little baby
  • 12:49 | still so I want to hear from you guys so

  • 12:59 | something that I have let out maybe this
  • 13:01 | is a very naive look at the world and
  • 13:04 | it’s because I am still so young and
  • 13:06 | maybe I’ll do a video in 10 years in 20
  • 13:08 | years and look back on the things that I

Raw introspection shows courage and determination to improve yourself. Been there, done that. Best advice I can offer: find a mentor. Someone with real life experience, comfortable in their role/position in life who can be a sounding board. Of course avoid the appeasers who say "yes" to please you and also avoid the answer creators who have a solution for every problem. PS Keep trying & fail forward. You've got this!

Happy 30th Paige! My dear sweet Daddy once told me that a woman's personality doesn't really shine til she turns 30. But yours was well developed long before that, along with all them other good thangs!
You're right about the wine thing too! Wish I could share a bottle with you! In the meantime, do like Annie Lennox says, 'keep young & beautiful'!

The last 3.5 years of my life have been the worst…. Had my life turned upside down. Resilience, Respect Redemption. Nothing worse than being framed by the people you trusted the most. Covid brought out the true colors of my friends, when they can't use you anymore, they spit you out. We experience the strictest lockdown laws and were the laughingstock of the world. God loves Australia, so that's all that matters to me.
