  • 0:00 | I travel a lot for work I don’t
  • 0:01 | necessarily get a ton of time to
  • 0:03 | actually get out and practice so this is
  • 0:05 | something that I think I would Institute
  • 0:07 | in my game for sure just to make it easy
  • 0:09 | you want to get out on the golf course
  • 0:11 | and have fun sit the club down and know
  • 0:13 | like okay this is really comfortable for
  • 0:15 | me right that’s all you can ask for
  • 0:18 | [Music]
  • 0:24 | welcome to the world of Wonder and I
  • 0:27 | have the great honor of having my good
  • 0:28 | friend Cara Dixon on the world of Wonder
  • 0:30 | Channel welcome to my world thank you
  • 0:33 | Donnie I’m excited to be in your world
  • 0:34 | and I’m very happy to have you here so
  • 0:36 | we’re going to talk about some new stuff
  • 0:37 | today
  • 0:38 | um we have a new line of golf clubs we
  • 0:41 | have the Big Bertha Reva and I have the
  • 0:43 | seven iron in my hand and we’re going to
  • 0:45 | do some testing we’ve never we’ve never
  • 0:46 | hit them before you’ve never hit them
  • 0:48 | before I’ve never seen them I’ve heard
  • 0:49 | of them okay very excited about it we’re
  • 0:51 | going to kind of go through the full
  • 0:52 | gamut here with you you’re my we call my
  • 0:54 | testing you’re my robot because you’re a
  • 0:56 | pure ball Striker yes okay please write
  • 0:59 | that down everyone so we’re gonna get
  • 1:00 | some balls here we got Chrome softex
  • 1:02 | golf balls that’s what you play out in
  • 1:03 | the field from what I’ve been told Kira
  • 1:05 | yes here is the seven iron uh what is
  • 1:08 | typical seven iron distance for you
  • 1:12 | ah on a good day yeah just give me like
  • 1:15 | 140. okay something like that okay
  • 1:18 | so these would be considered the first
  • 1:20 | thing since we’re looking at them for
  • 1:21 | the first time
  • 1:22 | to your eye how do they look
  • 1:24 | like what are you picking up there so it
  • 1:26 | definitely isn’t much wider base than my
  • 1:29 | regular you have Apex 21 regular Apex
  • 1:31 | Irons definitely lighter okay and a bit
  • 1:34 | of a skinnier grip as well yep
  • 1:37 | um
  • 1:38 | yeah
  • 1:39 | so I feel like I could do some damage I
  • 1:40 | feel like you might be this might be a
  • 1:41 | nice set for you let’s just hit some
  • 1:43 | okay
  • 1:48 | beautiful there we go okay that’s my
  • 1:50 | draw so this is where some of this
  • 1:52 | technology kind of kicks in so let me
  • 1:54 | just show you something here so when you
  • 1:55 | have this much tungsten on the bottom of
  • 1:56 | the golf club which these have a lot of
  • 1:58 | tungsten down low when you hit it a
  • 2:00 | little bit lower on the face did you see
  • 2:01 | how that kind of launched almost like
  • 2:03 | how you would hit your Apex like out of
  • 2:05 | the middle yeah so that’s we already
  • 2:06 | know that these things are going to help
  • 2:08 | you get the ball in the air okay okay
  • 2:09 | and we’re getting good ball speed and
  • 2:11 | Good carry out of these things so we
  • 2:12 | there’s definitely something to be
  • 2:13 | excited about here uh so far
  • 2:16 | so much to be excited about there’s a
  • 2:18 | lot to be excited do you like but just
  • 2:19 | setting it down like it’s a it’s a
  • 2:21 | set designed or a lot of clubs designed
  • 2:24 | at women like do you like the way they
  • 2:26 | look the colors I like the fact that I
  • 2:29 | feel like my setup is going to be good
  • 2:30 | no matter what yeah yeah the setup is so
  • 2:32 | huge with with any golf club of course
  • 2:34 | but right this feels like I’m not
  • 2:37 | questioning if I’ve got it correct or
  • 2:39 | not it just got kind of a good vibe yeah
  • 2:44 | okay that’s great
  • 2:45 | okay so the cool thing that we’re seeing
  • 2:47 | here is you’ve hit you know four or five
  • 2:49 | balls this is kind of what I’m loving is
  • 2:51 | you sort of hit you hit a couple flush
  • 2:53 | hit a couple thin but if you look out
  • 2:55 | there and I’m looking at the data they
  • 2:56 | all kind of live within one mile an hour
  • 2:59 | ball speed the carrying on the spin
  • 3:01 | they’re all very in a really nice tight
  • 3:03 | little window so this is great for me
  • 3:05 | which is amazing which is amazing so we
  • 3:07 | know that they’re forgiving and we also
  • 3:08 | know that you can hit shots with these
  • 3:10 | so it’s a it’s a really cool iron set
  • 3:12 | but I want to try we got a whole bag of
  • 3:14 | stuff here
  • 3:15 | where do you stand on hybrids you like
  • 3:16 | hybrids I live for a hybrid give me a
  • 3:19 | hybrid I got a hybrid yeah I am here Pro
  • 3:23 | hybrid team hybrid so that’s everybody
  • 3:25 | no matter how good of a golfer you are
  • 3:26 | that’s a 24 degree hybrid that’s got a
  • 3:28 | little bit the cool thing once again
  • 3:30 | with the Callaway hybrid we have
  • 3:31 | adjustability in that one so we can mess
  • 3:32 | with the head a little bit with the Loft
  • 3:34 | and the LIE okay
  • 3:36 | um so let’s see what this does
  • 3:39 | okay
  • 3:43 | that hybrid looks amazing by the way
  • 3:44 | this is very nice all these clubs look
  • 3:46 | amazing
  • 3:50 | okay we kind of love the hybrids yeah we
  • 3:53 | we really love the hybrids okay so
  • 3:55 | that’s we’re kind of sold on that let’s
  • 3:57 | put that to the side here okay put it
  • 3:59 | right there we’re gonna get a I saw a
  • 4:00 | like a five wood in here here we go five
  • 4:03 | foot is good this is the fun part about
  • 4:05 | working for Callaway and doing these
  • 4:06 | videos is they kind of just give you a
  • 4:07 | bunch of clubs it’s like you have all
  • 4:09 | this stuff to try but it’s dangerous I
  • 4:13 | know I could be here forever this is
  • 4:14 | kind of like where it gets really fun
  • 4:15 | this is where the gig gets really fun
  • 4:18 | do you play a five one I do you do I
  • 4:21 | have a five hybrid six hybrid and then
  • 4:23 | seven wood
  • 4:25 | five wood three one the cool thing that
  • 4:26 | they did with these two is with the
  • 4:27 | Fairway Woods like for example the five
  • 4:29 | wood this 500 has 21 degrees Aloft which
  • 4:31 | is about two or three degrees more than
  • 4:33 | your average five wood so they’re taking
  • 4:36 | into consideration getting the ball in
  • 4:37 | the air with the right ball speed and
  • 4:38 | all that stuff so I kind of love that
  • 4:40 | the 5 wood is set up that way so you
  • 4:43 | should get good launch out of this and
  • 4:45 | um and it looks really nice
  • 4:55 | oh it’s great okay let’s get one more of
  • 4:58 | the five wood
  • 5:00 | we know we like this one boy you might I
  • 5:03 | might take if I was telling us I was
  • 5:05 | selling you these golf clubs
  • 5:07 | I’d feel real good someone’s got to keep
  • 5:09 | an eye on the Revis yeah reverse let’s
  • 5:11 | pretend we are at like 17 at Pebble
  • 5:14 | during the Pro-Am 17 of pebble okay I’m
  • 5:16 | hitting my tee shot you want a left pin
  • 5:19 | or a right pin we’re gonna do the middle
  • 5:20 | flag it’s about 175 for you guys for the
  • 5:23 | AMS yeah you’re in the lead for the
  • 5:25 | Pro-Am you got to step up there and hit
  • 5:27 | a good one oh gosh Justin Timberlake’s
  • 5:30 | like in front of you in the group in
  • 5:31 | front he’s watching
  • 5:32 | oh boy I can feel the adrenaline already
  • 5:40 | oh she just watch out okay I love it
  • 5:44 | okay now we’re gonna get to the driver
  • 5:45 | interesting story on the driver so I
  • 5:48 | don’t want to call it like a draw bias
  • 5:50 | driver but it’s kind of like a help me
  • 5:51 | hook it driver it’s got a little bit of
  • 5:53 | weight in the heel but they they
  • 5:55 | actually move the center of gravity a
  • 5:56 | little forward which knocks the spin
  • 5:58 | down because people that slice it or
  • 6:00 | slice swipe across that tend to overspin
  • 6:01 | the ball this one’s going to keep the
  • 6:03 | spin down and it’s got a little weight
  • 6:05 | in the heel to kind of help you get that
  • 6:06 | nice draw yeah so I play a natural draw
  • 6:09 | you kind of play a natural draw so you
  • 6:10 | might perfect you might absolutely
  • 6:12 | stripe this thing okay so their way to
  • 6:15 | helping people draw it is actually kind
  • 6:16 | of a new idea
  • 6:19 | which is cool I think that’s why is that
  • 6:22 | because when you make drivers draw bias
  • 6:24 | or anti-slice it’s hard to mitigate the
  • 6:27 | the weight being in the heel the ball
  • 6:29 | wants to turn over but typically
  • 6:30 | everybody overspins it too so you’re
  • 6:32 | getting an over spinner and end trying
  • 6:33 | to get the ball to go left pushing the
  • 6:35 | center of gravity forward knocks the
  • 6:37 | spin down and then putting a little
  • 6:38 | weight in the heel now you have a driver
  • 6:39 | that’s launching with low spin and
  • 6:42 | getting that a little bit of that right
  • 6:43 | turn or that left turn excuse me
  • 6:46 | so
  • 6:47 | for you it’s just kind of like draw on
  • 6:49 | command
  • 6:50 | I would love that please yeah okay Reva
  • 6:53 | let’s see what you got here
  • 6:59 | oh my word yeah that’s good that’s a
  • 7:02 | little baby draw like if I said okay
  • 7:04 | these are yours take them home we’re
  • 7:07 | going we’re going you put them in the
  • 7:08 | bag thank you for shopping at Callaway
  • 7:10 | where you’re done so if you had to send
  • 7:12 | the people off with one message on Big
  • 7:14 | Bertha Reva
  • 7:15 | um what would you say like if this was a
  • 7:17 | if people said you have one sentence
  • 7:18 | Give me the give me like the the the log
  • 7:20 | line the send off what would it be with
  • 7:22 | my elevator pitch for this okay so for
  • 7:25 | me I I travel a lot for work I don’t
  • 7:27 | necessarily get a ton of time to
  • 7:28 | actually get out and practice so this is
  • 7:31 | something that I think I would Institute
  • 7:32 | in my game for sure just to make it easy
  • 7:35 | you want to get out on the golf course
  • 7:36 | and have fun I’m not out there competing
  • 7:38 | for millions of dollars I’m out there
  • 7:39 | just trying to have a great time with my
  • 7:41 | friends and family right and with Johnny
  • 7:42 | Wonder every once in a while of course
  • 7:43 | so to be able to make the game as easy
  • 7:45 | as possible and to sit sit the club down
  • 7:48 | and know like okay this is really
  • 7:49 | comfortable for me right that’s all you
  • 7:51 | can ask for and you can hit all the
  • 7:52 | shots that you need to exactly I love it
  • 7:54 | and that’s all I’m looking for out of
  • 7:55 | the game at all so that’s Cara Dixon I’m
  • 7:57 | Johnny Wonder uh that’s a big Bertha
  • 8:00 | Reva
  • 8:01 | we’re out of here
  • 8:02 | [Music]

Seems like ball on those first 2 shots were too far left with built in Draw?

I am a 250 pound 63 year old male, near scratch golfer (-1 under par to +3 over par per round played i.e. 69 to 75) with a natural draw bias. I use the Big Bertha REVA 8 hybrid with women's flex shaft, instead of carrying both an 8 iron and 7 iron in my bag. Outstanding distance and high launch and forgiving. I hit this 8 hybrid up to 135 yards. Shot a 3 under par 33 front, 3 over par 39 back last week for an even par 72 from men's tees. My other hybrids {6h, 5h, 4h, 2h}, are Callaway FT-iz with women's flex shafts 50 grams graphite. I use Ping Gorge Tour wedges {58, 54, 50, 47 degrees} with steel stiff shafts, and 2 Ping G25 Drivers (10 degree draw bias and a 11.5 fade bias) with senior flex Aldila graphite shafts. I carry 2 putters (1 left, 1 right), and I do have a 9 iron too in the bag with a regular flex graphite shaft.

Ive just started as a golfer a few weeks ago and have been using borrowed clubs fruom the clubhouse plus occasionally stealing one from my husband for a few minutes. However, today I ordered a set of Calaway Reva in Rose Gold and can’t wait for them to arrive. I don’t know if they are also called Big Bertha or not though so they may not be exactly the same set. Either way, I’m sure I will do better with them than with a mish mash of borrowed clubs. Thank you for this review it has given me even more reason to look forward to my own set.

I have to say senior golfers should try these reva hybrids out. They are so light and go with slow swing speed, easy to hit and it launch quickly and does the one two hop on the green. Amazing club to make 120-180 yards approach shots to the green ….so much easier for me and my scores. I am going to try the reva wood and driver out…who knows…it might be the clubs I need
