  • 1:52 | SOME NEED TO START DRINKING THIS
  • 1:53 | SOME TRUTH SERUM, WHAT THEY’RE
  • 1:54 | DOING RIGHT NOW IS MAKING THEM

  • 2:00 | SERUM.
  • 2:01 | THAT’S WHY WE LOVE YOU.
  • 2:02 | WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION TO TALOR
  • 2:06 | GOOCH RECEIVING THAT EXEMPTION
  • 2:12 | INTO THE PGA?
  • 2:13 | >> I WAS PERSONALLY VERY EXCITED
  • 2:15 | TO SEE JOAQUIN NIEMANN GET A
  • 2:17 | SPOT INTO THE MASTER.
  • 2:18 | HE MADE AN EFFORT TO PLAY IN
  • 2:20 | AUSTRALIA AND OTHER PARTS OF THE
  • 2:25 | WORLD.
  • 2:27 | TALOR PLAYED WONDERFUL GOLF.
  • 2:31 | HE SAID HE’S NOT GOING TO PLAY
  • 2:33 | SECTIONAL QUALIFYING THIS YEAR.
  • 2:35 | I’M SURPRISED THE PGA GAVE HIM A
  • 2:37 | SPOT, BUT HE’S PROBABLY
  • 2:38 | I’M SURE HE’S PLAYING WELL.
  • 2:39 | WE’LL SEE HOW IT GOES NEXT WEEK
  • 2:41 | FOR HIM.
  • 2:42 | I’M JUST — I’M OVER THE
  • 2:45 | NARRATIVE OF THEY’RE TRYING TO
  • 2:46 | BECOME THE VICTIMS NOW AND
  • 2:48 | THEY’RE THE ONES THAT KIND OF
  • 2:49 | CAUSED THIS WHOLE STRUCTURE OF
  • 2:50 | THE PGA TOUR TO BREAK DOWN.
  • 2:52 | SO, THE FACT THAT THEY WANT IT
  • 2:54 | BOTH WAYS IS JUST NOT PLAYING
  • 2:55 | WELL WITH ME, AND IT IS NOT
  • 2:57 | GOING TO FOR A WHILE.
  • 2:59 | >> REX, GOING BACK TO THE WELLS
  • 3:01 | FARGO THIS WEEK, THERE ARE A LOT
  • 3:02 | OF GUYS IN THE FIELD WHO REALLY
  • 3:03 | NEED A BIG WEEK BEFORE THEY GET
  • 3:05 | TO VALHALLA NEXT WEEK.
  • 3:06 | ONE OF THEM IS GRINDING OUT
  • 3:07 | THERE ON THE RANGE RIGHT NOW,
  • 3:09 | VIKTOR HOVLAND, WHO HAD — BY
  • 3:11 | HIS STANDARDS, A PRETTY POOR
  • 3:12 | YEAR COMING OFF THE FEDEXCUP WIN
  • 3:14 | LAST YEAR.
  • 3:15 | DOES HE — IS HE THE GUY TOP OF
  • 3:17 | YOUR LIST WHO NEEDS TO FIND
  • 3:19 | SOMETHING THIS WEEK BEFORE HE
  • 3:22 | HEADS TO KENTUCKY?
  • 3:23 | >> YES, DEFINITELY VIKTOR
  • 3:24 | HOVLAND WOULD BE ON THE LIST.
  • 3:25 | IF I HAD TO START, IF I’M BEING
  • 3:27 | HONEST, IT IS JORDAN SPIETH.
  • 3:28 | JOHNSON WAGNER AND I BOTH WERE
  • 3:30 | IN DALLAS LAST WEEK AND WATCHED
  • 3:31 | HIM PLAY THE FIRST TWO ROUNDS
  • 3:33 | AND HAD A GOOD CONVERSATION ON
  • 3:34 | AIR JUST ABOUT THE IDEA THAT IT
  • 3:35 | IS PROBABLY TIME FOR JORDAN TO
  • 3:37 | MAKE A DECISION TO GO IN A
  • 3:38 | DIFFERENT DIRECTION.
  • 3:39 | I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT A SWING
  • 3:41 | COACH, I’M TALKING ABOUT THE
  • 3:43 | IT IS A PROBLEM.
  • 3:44 | IT IS CLEARLY SOMETHING THAT IS
  • 3:45 | KEEPING HIM FROM PLAYING THE
  • 3:46 | GOLF THAT HE WANTS TO PLAY, THE
  • 3:48 | GOLF WE ALL KNOW HE’S CAPABLE OF
  • 3:51 | PLAYING.
  • 3:52 | NOW, I SPO EKEKE WITH JORDAN AB
  • 3:53 | THIS LAST WEEK.
  • 3:56 | HE DIDN’T FEEL LIKE THERE WAS A
  • 3:58 | SURGICAL PROCEDURE THAT WAS
  • 3:59 | GOING TO MAKE IT WORK, BUT WHEN
  • 4:00 | HE TALKS ABOUT THE IDEA THAT HE
  • 4:01 | DOESN’T KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO
  • 4:03 | POP OUT, AND WE’RE TALKING ABOUT
  • 4:04 | THE LIGAMENT POPPING OUT OF THE
  • 4:06 | SHEATH, IN HIS WRIST, THAT SEEMS
  • 4:08 | TO BE TERRIFYING.
  • 4:09 | I DON’T KNOW HOW YOU CAN PLAY
  • 4:11 | PROFESSIONAL GOLF WITH THAT
  • 4:12 | I THINK THAT’S WHAT WE’RE SEEING
  • 4:14 | OUT OF JORDAN SPIETH RIGHT NOW.
  • 4:15 | IF WE DON’T SEE A TURN AROUND,
  • 4:18 | THIS WEEK OR VALHALLA FOR THE
  • 4:20 | PGA CHAMPIONSHIP OVER THE NEXT
  • 4:22 | FEW WEEKS, I THINK HE HAS TO
  • 4:24 | MAKE A DECISION ABOUT HOW HE’S
  • 4:25 | GOING TO TREAT THIS PARTICULAR
  • 4:26 | INJURY, MAYBE TAKING SIX MONTHS
  • 4:27 | OFF IS THE BEST OPTION.
  • 4:28 | >> JORDAN SPIETH, FEDEXCUP
  • 4:30 | CHAMP, JOHNSON, VIKTOR HOVLAND A
  • 4:33 | FEDEXCUP CHAMP, THE WAY HE
  • 4:34 | CLOSED LAST SEASON WAS SOMETHING
  • 4:36 | I’LL NEVER FORGET.
  • 4:37 | TO SEE HIM ON THE DRIVING RANGE
  • 4:39 | THROUGH ALL THESE FUNKY SWING
  • 4:40 | MOVES WHEN HE HIT THE BALL THE
  • 4:42 | WAY HE DID LAST YEAR, I’M
  • 4:43 | COMPLETELY BEFUDDLED AND
  • 4:45 | YOU’VE WON THREE TIMES OUT
  • 4:46 | THERE.
  • 4:47 | WE KNOW THIS GAME IS TOUGH.
  • 4:48 | CAN YOU TAKE US INSIDE THE MIND
  • 4:50 | OF A PLAYER WHO PLAYED AS
  • 4:52 | BRILLIANTLY AS HE DID AND IS
  • 4:53 | BREAKING IT ALL DOWN AND TRYING
  • 4:54 | TO DO IT A DIFFERENT WAY?
  • 5:00 | >> I’M NOT GOING TO SFPECULATE
  • 5:01 | WHAT HAPPENED W ED WITH HIM AN
  • 5:07 | COACH.
  • 5:08 | I GO FORWARD TO THE PLAYERS
  • 5:09 | CHAMPIONSHIP, AND IT WAS
  • 5:10 | WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, I WAS ON
  • 5:11 | THE BACK OF THE RANGE, AND HE’S
  • 5:13 | OUT THERE LAST GUY ON THE
  • 5:15 | DRIVING RANGE WORKING WITH HIS
  • 5:16 | COACH AT THE TIME, GRANT WEIGHT.
  • 5:19 | HE PLAYS FOUR HOLES TO FINISH
  • 5:21 | HIS WEDNESDAY PREPARATION, INTO
  • 5:23 | THE GLOAMING AND OUT EARLY THE
  • 5:25 | NEXT DAY, CLEARLY A GUY THAT IS
  • 5:27 | I THINK HE FOUND ANOTHER COACH
  • 5:28 | TO GO WORK FOR AND FROM WHAT I
  • 5:30 | UNDERSTAND, VIKTOR HOVLAND IS
  • 5:32 | TRYING TO GET BACK TO WHERE HE
  • 5:33 | HAS ONE SHOT AND THAT’S THE FADE
  • 5:35 | HE WAS SO GOOD AT AND HOPEFULLY
  • 5:37 | HE GETS THERE SOON.
  • 5:38 | IT IS CONFUSING WHY HE WOULD
  • 5:39 | WANT TO MAKE THE CHANGES HE DID
  • 5:40 | AT THE END OF A BANNER YEAR.
  • 5:43 | >> AND, REX, ONE OF THE GUYS
  • 5:47 | VIKTOR HOVLAND WENT UP AGAINST,
  • 5:48 | BROOKS KOEPKA, HE WON IN
  • 5:49 | SINGAPORE OVER THE WEEKEND.
  • 5:51 | HE’S GOT TO BE ON EVERYBODY’S
  • 5:53 | LIST OF GUYS MOST LIKELY TO WALK
  • 5:55 | AWAY WITH THE WANAMAKER TROPHY
  • 6:04 | IT HAS GOT TO BE WORRYING FOR
  • 6:05 | SOME OF THE OTHER GUYS WHEN YOU
  • 6:06 | SEE BROOKS KOEPKA START TO ROUND
  • 6:07 | INTO SOME FORM AND SOME
  • 6:11 | >> YEAH.
  • 6:12 | I THINK AFTER SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER
  • 6:13 | AND WE CAN ALL AGREE HE’S GOING
  • 6:14 | TO BE ONE ON THAT LIST, I THINK
  • 6:16 | BROOKS IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE
  • 6:17 | NUMBER TWO GOING INTO THE PGA
  • 6:18 | CHAMPIONSHIP.
  • 6:19 | AND I KNOW THAT’S BEING A BIT OF
  • 6:20 | A PRISONER OF THE MOMENT BASED
  • 6:21 | ON WHAT HE HAS DONE SO FAR THIS
  • 6:23 | BUT I THINK THE NARRATIVE COMING
  • 6:25 | OUT OF THE MASTERS, THE IDEA
  • 6:28 | WAS, WELL, HE CAN FLIP THE
  • 6:30 | SWITCH.
  • 6:31 | HE DIDN’T FLIP THE SWITCH.
  • 6:33 | MAYBE HE’S NOT FOCUSED THE WAY
  • 6:35 | THIS REMINDS ME OF WHAT HAPPENED
  • 6:37 | LAST YEAR, JUST BEFORE THE
  • 6:38 | MASTERS.
  • 6:39 | HE WON THE LIV EVENT IN ORLANDO,
  • 6:41 | CLEARLY IN GOOD FORM WHEN HE
  • 6:42 | SHOWED UP AT AUGUSTA NATIONAL
  • 6:43 | AND THAT CARRIED OVER TO THE PGA
  • 6:45 | CHAMPIONSHIP.
  • 6:46 | I WOULD BE SHOCKED IF HE DOESN’T
  • 6:47 | GIVE HIMSELF A CHANCE TO WIN AT
  • 6:49 | VALHALLA.
  • 6:50 | >> WHAT DO YOU THINK?
  • 6:51 | IS THERE SOME LEVEL OF
  • 6:53 | ADMIRATION OR APPRECIATION FOR
  • 6:54 | HOW BROOKS KEPT HIMSELF SHARP
  • 6:56 | AND IN THE FIGHT AND FOCUSED EN
  • 6:58 | WHAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IMPORTANT
  • 7:00 | TO HIM, EVEN IF HE DOES NOW PLAY
  • 7:03 | ON A DIFFERENT TOUR?
  • 7:05 | >> YEAH, IT IS KIND OF MIND
  • 7:07 | BOGGLING WHEN YOU LOOK AT HIS
  • 7:08 | CAREER AS A WHOLE, HE’S GOT AS
  • 7:11 | MANY MAJOR WINS AS REGULAR WINS.
  • 7:13 | WHEN IT IS ALL SAID AND DONE, IN
  • 7:14 | HIS CAREER, HE’S GOING TO GO
  • 7:16 | DOWN AS SOMEWHAT OF AN ENIGMA
  • 7:18 | ALREADY HAS THREE PGA
  • 7:20 | CHAMPIONSHIPS, YOU WOULD HAVE TO
  • 7:21 | THINK BASED ON THE PLACES HE’S
  • 7:22 | WON THAT VALHALLA WOULD BE A
  • 7:24 | GOODPLACE FOR HIM AND CLEARLY
  • 7:25 | COMING OFF A WIN IS A GOOD

Mickelson evolved from a well-liked, often rooted-for tour player to a gambling-challenged, money-grubbing, desperate tool. Too bad. He was fun to watch back-when.

Phil Michelson has really hurt his legacy in tour history. So the players now are above the 100 plus years of golf tradition in the United States? Player, Nicklaus, Palmer and Tiger were the pinnacle of the game during their prime…but even they always said “ We are not above the game”. Players come and players go….hey Phil enjoy your $165 million dollars gifted to by your Middle East masters and gamble away, but YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE GAME!

Your right Johnson, wanting it both ways seems fairly childish and petulant. Lot of that going around sadly even with all that $$$ in the bank? Relax and play your tour and don't forget to grow the game while your at it.

Everyone on the Golf Channel would have taken 100 million to go play on the LIV Tour if offered. Everyone has a price. None of you are objective since you work for the PGA Tour. Your network has become as objective as cable news. Why do you get so offended when Phil gives his opinion just ignore him. Why would you not want the top 100 players in the World playing in every major. Datagolf has Louis Oosthuizen, Abe Ancer, Carlos Ortiz, Marc Leishman, Sergio Garcia and Paul Casey in their top 100 rankings too who were not invited.

Think Phil and others realize that the number of players abandoning the PGA tour for LIV hasn't reached their predictions. I'd be feeling a sense of self-pity as well if I tried to undermine people's morals as well and if I wasn't invited back on tour for agreeing to such an agreement as his. He and they know what they signed up for and I have no doubt that the LIV players don't feel out of place and don't have a homie like feeling playing on foreign soil in such a new league.

Well deserved invite to Talor Gooch, credit to the PGA of America. The Masters should be ashamed of themselves, for many things over the years e.g. racism and discrimination etc, but more recently not inviting the best player on LIV in 2023. Hopefully the US Open and British Open follow the example set by the PGA of America.

GC and PGAT hypocrisy…they corrupted the OWGR and then are outraged at LIV daring to complain about LIV being deemed worthy of Zero OWGR pts….epic hypocrisy

Players have power now. Tournaments need to maintain their integrity and prestige, especially The Majors. They need to be inclusive, invite the best players in the world, including those who play 14 weeks on LIV. Non majors need to create a bundle of benefits for players. Purse, competition, experience for players, wives, families, caddies, ‘vibes’ … otherwise PGATour will have 2/3rds of their events with unexciting fields. The comments expressed by these 4 commentators are pretty pedestrian.

Such a bias take from each of these benchwarmers. The majors are for the best golfers in the world not reservations for pga players. No one is trying to watch Scottie stomp on tomato can golfers on the pga tour.

    This isn’t about playing victim.
Even without a boycott LIv players increasingly need to be in the majors for the good of the majors. That’s what this conversation is about.
It is ridiculous LIv does not get owgr points for the good of the credibility of the owgr also.
And it’s horrible for the credibility of the pga tour not to allow LIv players.
The solution to all the organizations is to accept and work together.

Talor Gooch is going to miss that paycheck from LIV at The PGA, when all you have to do is break 80 and collect. He's 32, not 22, years old, and he's never even had a top Ten in a single Major in his life. LIV is a joke.

The longer the PGAT and LIV merger goes unresolved the more it plays into the hands of LIV golf. The PGAT has done very little to achieve an amicable result for both sides. The war rages on with no signs of ending anytime soon. The players are the pawns of the commercial interests involved and unfortunately many of them will be wasted in this unending war of attrition. It is imperitive that the PGAT realises that the golf scene has changed and it is their responsability to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. The fans demand a resolution not half arsed promises.
